Therapy Sessions – Payments

You are required to pay for therapy sessions at the time of service unless you have made prior arrangements. After each session, I will provide you with an invoice that includes the session fee and any applicable charges. You can conveniently pay with cash, check, or credit card. If you prefer, you can also use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds as accepted payment methods for therapy services.

Rate

Therapy sessions – 50 minutes – $180

Cash, Checks, and Credit Cards are accepted methods of payment. HSA and FSA funds can be used to pay for therapy.

Insurance

I am in-network through Alma with Aetna (including United Healthcare) and Optum insurance.

If you do not have those insurance providers, I will give you the necessary information should you choose to submit your own claims for out-of-network reimbursement.

To receive more information about your plan’s out-of-network coverage and what to expect, contact your insurance provider and ask the following:

  • Is reimbursement offered for out-of-network behavioral health services?
  • If so, at what percentage?
  • Must a deductible amount first be met and what is this amount?

Good Faith Estimate Notice

Health care providers must give you a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. If you don’t have insurance or choose not to use it, providers must provide an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy. You can request a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy, before scheduling a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute it. Be sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
